Elena Carr
In the Transit Space

Lecture Performance

Elena Carr's chamber piece is the lecture performance "In the Transit Space," an associative chain of quotations and texts on fatigue, complemented by two visual installations. The focus is on the space's location between the bedroom and the kitchen, a place of care work and a place of fatigue. In analogically glued-together excerpts from diverse media, literary, historical, and personal fragments blend into a seemingly endless collection of weary words and stories. The performance follows the protagonist, M., on a journey into this collaged world of tired experiences, traversing tired phenomena, lullabies in minor keys, and gestures that accompany dark circles under the eyes. Elena Carr is accompanied by Raphael Weilguni (melodica) and other collaborators.
