A special place for your special day!

Lochmann House, a listed building with its own garden, and located just a few steps from the lake and a few minutes’ walk from the railway station, is like an oasis in the middle of the town. Standing in its original location, its history dates back to the early 16th century – and the centuries have left their mark on the building. Ancient wooden beams and unique wall decorations bear witness to times long past. Once inhabited by fishermen and farmers, it also served as a manor house. Becoming the nucleus of the town of Starnberg, its history is closely linked to the region and the people living there. Today, Lochmann House is the heart of the Museum Starnberger See.

What a wonderful place to continue your own story and enter the next chapter of your lives! Selected parts of this historical building and the museum grounds can be used for weddings and other special occasions.

Weddings can be held in the rustic parlor or in the garden in front of the house. The museum will be happy to advise you which room is the most suitable for you and your guests. An appointment will then be made with Starnberg registry office, a representative of which will conduct the marriage ceremony. The historical rooms can each accommodate up to 25 people, and there is room for 50 people beneath the fruit trees in the garden. After the ceremony, a reception can be held in either the garden or the courtyard, or indoors in the café in the event of inclement weather. The museum can provide furniture for the garden and chilled drinks on request. And it goes without saying that couples can combine their special day with a private tour of the museum!

A basic fee of €390 is charged for holding wedding ceremonies in the museum. This doesn’t include the cost of cleaning hired furniture or drinks.
